December 2014 TO THE MT ALBERT RUGBY LEAGUE COMMUNITY Dear Members & Supporters of Mt Albert Rugby League, You may be aware the current Management Committee has resigned as of this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Sunday 7th December 2014. There were no nominations received prior to the AGM, or from the ‘floor’ – and as such the club is currently operating without a Management Committee. It was agreed to hold a Special General Meeting (SGM) on Thursday 29th January 2015, at Mt Albert Rugby League, starting at 7pm, with an intention of discussing this further and hopefully voting in the 2015 Management Committee. The club is in a strong position in all areas, and it is critical we maintain this position, and where appropriate implement improvements to strengthen this. If we do not get a Management Committee in place at the SGM, we will need to defer to the Auckland Rugby League (ARL), and this may mean the club comes under their management. Put simply, this cannot happen. Mt Albert Rugby League has a proud history and tradition, we are one of the most successful sporting organisations in the country, and more than ever need the most important people to us – that is YOU – to ensure we continue to thrive and succeed. Our mission statement has 4 key pillars Nurture, Pride, Lead, Succeed – this cannot be met if we do not manage and control our own club. The 2014 Management Committee will support and guide you to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. We ask that you look to give back to the club that has given so much to so many.
