December 24th was the birthday of the Checkertails Organization President Kathy Cluff! I meant to get a post up but am late! I have a phone video of Barrie Davis at the 2013 Checkertails Reunion in Boston asking everyones help with suggestions of what to title to give to Kathy in his Roll Calls. She doesnt like President, Barrie laments, or Leader or Commander! By whatever title, to me Kathy is the heart and inspiration of the Checkertail Organization. To me, she is irreplaceable as she is unique in having attended Checkertail Reunions all of her life, she knows the history, the traditions and the expectations yet she has forged new history, new traditions and new expectations for us in our mission to preserve and promote the legendary service of our outstanding veterans. And as my friend, she and I have seen each other through so much since 2010, when I met her over the Internet and asked if she wanted help organizing the Checkertail Reunions. I love you, dear friend. You are a treasure. I wish you the best in everything in your life because you give your best to everyone and everything in your life.
