December 27, 2014 Devotional; Thoughts for the day. Advent has come…..Jesus arrived….and His Spirit lives among us How well do you know Jesus? 1 The Ruach [Hakodesh] of Adonoi Hashem is upon me [Moshiach], because Hashem mashach (hath anointed) me [Moshiach] to preach (good news, glad tidings) unto the (meek, poor, oppressed); He hath sent me to bind up the (the brokenhearted), to proclaim (freedom, liberty) for the ( captives), and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. Isaiah 61:1 …. Orthodox translation and New living translation……can you imagine Jesus? Moshiach is the Hebrew word for “messiah.” Isaiah 61:2-3 2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. 3 To all who mourn he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory. Amen How beautiful does that sound? He has been with us since the beginning and now this day, the close of the year 2014….right after we Christians celebrate the birth….the advent (revealing of Christ) …How well do you know…..do you feel His presence…. Psalm 110 : 1 ………who is familiar with this verse? 1The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.” ( NLV) 1 Orthodox Hebrew translation of same verse…: Hashem said unto Moshiach Adoni, Sit thou at My right hand, until I make thine enemies a footstool for thy feet. Amen Amen….God said to Jesus…..and here we are today…..do you know that He has come…walked this earth…formed this earth…created you and me…..and redeemed us….He repaired the first sin of Adam in the Garden…..and now He awaits our response to His salvation, How do we respond? Romans 8:29-30 29 Is God only the God of the Jews? Isnt he also the God of people who are not Jewish? Certainly, he is, 30 since it is the same God who approves circumcised people by faith and uncircumcised people through this same faith. Romans 8:22-24 22 Everyone who believes has Gods approval through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no difference between people. 23 Because all people have sinned, they have fallen short of Gods glory. 24 They receive Gods approval freely by an act of his kindness through the price Christ Jesus paid to set us free [from sin]. Amen……..this is such an awesome gift for you and me ….i especially love the part that says all people are the same…..so It may let us wonder….who will we be standing next to on judgment day? A Methodist, a catholic, a Baptist, a muslim, a jew……a theif, a murderer…..a homeless person….….our response to advent should be Bliss and Love….. We get caught up in the worlds view of things ….what is right….what is wrong…and forget that God is The creator of everything and everything belongs to Him…..nothing you receive can be received unless He allows it….but …we can Love….. As a matter of fact….The Bible tells us in The Words of Jesus Himself….. Mark 12:31 31The second most important commandment is this: Love your neighbor as you love yourself. No other commandment is greater than these. Love !! If we say it….mean it…and if we mean it….act on it…..worship and serve….find a place to worship and let the gift of salvation….Jesus….The Holy Ghost…..wrap around you and guide you in everything you do. Good night and have a terrific Sunday, Kenny
