December 28 is 1 Caban/Noj. Today marks the first day of a new Trecena ~ Caban, carrying the energies of Earth, will manifest as simple soil, into which seeds are planted; as the ground beneath our feet; as our Mother Planet Home Gaia ~ Her overwhelming Guidance is for us to strive to embrace nurturing, fertility, and abundance. Growth is our keyword for the next 13 days. Hun (1) is the singularity, the unifying force. Hun, influencing Cabans energy this first day of Her Trecena, sharpens our focus to a pinpoint. We will likely feel driven to narrow our sights upon *one* task, or *one* purpose, or *one* relationship. We will not feel scattered today ~ in fact, we might actually find ourselves wishing that we *could* open up our attention to more than just one thing ~ because of the intensity that we experience. Our work this day is to cooperate with that singular focus. Our attention is desperately needed wherever we find it drawn to. We also are in need of the undiluted energy. Our balance and well-being is well-served by not having our attention and engagement spread too thin. Nurturing. Whatever it is that we have been neglecting for self-care, today is the day to be attentive to that. Whomever or whatever our focus is drawn to, we are guided to envelope them/that with the intention to cultivate a deep, loving care-taking... Abundance. We have so much. Often we do not recognize our own abundance... we are conditioned by so many events and circumstances to invest in a belief in our own lack and scarcity that we just cannot see the wealth that we carry within us and that we have all around us. However it manifests in our selves and in our lives, we should strive to take an inventory today of just how much abundance we have, no matter our material circumstances. Then, we are guided to spread that around, in whatever ways we can imagine to do so: for some people, they may have an abundance of patience and compassion.... spreading it around might take the form of offering those qualities in as many circumstances as possible this day and also gently focusing upon others who might be challenged in their attempts to face situations with patience or in their ability to see others with compassion... holding those people in our thoughts as *capable* of being patient and as *capable* of having compassion, despite all appearances, is a powerful way to honor and empower someone, without having to shame them or teach them a lesson. Silent and dignified, we are helping someone. The key there is to be like our Mother Gaia... to give without any attachment to how it will be received and to nurture without any need to actually see the result of the nurturing. For ourselves, as we attend to our own needs for self-care, we must be forgiving and not allow ourselves to attach our sense of self-worth or success upon outcomes or manifestations... we must simply allow ourselves to be where we ARE and give ourselves the greatest love that we can, even while acknowledging that we may have a very long way to go before we are done with [fill in the blank]. May we recognize our vast abundance, which is not measured by material worth. May we give freely and nurture the very best qualities in others. May we Mother ourselves gently and with unconditional regard. May we accept the intensities of this day and stay focused where our energies are needed most. Caban (Earth) rules this current Trecena for 13 days (beginning December 28.
