December 6, 2014, Saturday.....Eight years ago, when I first moved back to Albuquerque from Denver, I had no idea what life was going to be like for my children and I. I separated from my husband and set out on a new journey. Three children each beginning their lives in high school, middle school and elementary. The challenges we faced were numerous, we wanted so much to move back to Denver, but we knew there was no other choice but to stay and endure. At that time, I could only sit on one parent committee, it was the VII Albuquerque Public School PAC. These small beginnings were the hardest to face, but I see now the reason for all that I had to endure. I wouldnt be standing exactly where I am. With a new challenge, being appointed to the New Mexico State Advisory Committee to the US Commission on Civil Rights. I filed my first civil rights complaint in 2008 for my youngest son. Small beginnings will reap great significance. Beautiful morning!
