December 7, 1942: planes from the Imperial Japanese Navy attack the United States Navy fleet stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Over 2,000 U.S. naval personnel are killed. The United States Naval Academy Glee Club sings the hymn Eternal Father, Strong to Save aboard the USS Arizona Memorial. As a footnote: this same hymn was sung by passengers at a hymn sing in the second class dining room aboard the RMS Titanic on the evening of April 14, 1912, only a few hours before she hit an iceberg at 11:40pm.
