December 7,2014 Second Sunday of Advent (Cycle B) Lord, just as St. John the Baptist preached a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, help me to change the direction of my heart from opposing You to welcoming You through thorough conversion and sincere repentance, humbly begging for Your mercy and forgiveness. Grant me enough faith so that the mountains and valleys of my sins and weaknesses may not become obstacles to my becoming pure and blameless in Your sight. Turn my mind and heart away from sin, indifference, and unbelief so that I may never remain fixed in my hypocrisy and self-centeredness. Help me to break away from my enslaving habits and relationships, from my anger and unforgiveness and from my greed and obsession with power as I make ready a straight path towards You through my interior renewal and conversion. Teach me Your ways that I may serve You with an undivided heart, by sincerely trusting in You and fully submitting to Your Word. May I hunger for Your Gospel as You allow it to purify and transform the way I think, act and live my life, carefully preparing me for the day when I may reach perfect goodness, which only You can produce in me, for Your greater honor and glory.
