Deception means the action of deceiving or giving someone a false impression. Deception may be natural or deliberate. Natural deception such as mirage exists in desert regions. Deception is basically the term used for anything that deceives. “All that glitters are not gold”, is a very famous proverb, which simply tells us that appearances and looks of a person may be deceptive. An evergreen smiling person may have worm-like grieves, eating him up from within while a dull, idiotic person, may be blissfully happy. Normal looking people can wear make-up, to look much better than they normally do. Thus, appearances are a way of deliberate deception. In the words of Robert Southey, “All deception in the course of life is indeed nothing else but a lie reduced to practise, and falsehood passing from words into things.” But, any sort of deception that boosts up our spirits, is much dearer than a host of low truths
