Decided I probably wont attend any more trendy doom gigs from now on. As much as I love some of the bands in that genre, its becoming more apparent that a lot of the people that go to these shows do it to look cool and have little or no interest in the bands playing. Rather instead check their emails, take selfies with their mates and generally just stand around at the front looking bored. These pricks are giving bands a false sense of popularity. Always on the search for new music purely for the sake of it. Maybe explains why so many bands have short lifespans these days. Riding high one minute then after the second album they are no longer a new band and suddenly ticket and record sales drop for no apparent reason. What happened to enjoying the music? David Roy Kuchta hit the nail on the head last night. If you want to constantly find new music, look back and research the old bands that were not as famous as the big boys back in the day. Or better still, just listen over and over to the bands that you ACTUALLY like. Dont be cool, be real.
