Decided to share a letter that my past employer wrote for me to help me get my disability. Its hard to read how ur life has changed in someone elses perpective. Enjoy. Greetings: I am writing the letter with regard to my long time assistant Jenny Cecil Wright. Jenny came to our law office and was hired on the 23rd day of December, 2002. She was new the area of legal secretary, but caught on quickly. Eventually we made her a specialist in our Domestic Relations Department where she handled all of the divorces, motions to modify, paternity, child custody etc. For the last 6 years of her work here she did the specialty work and did an outstanding job. In 2013 things began to change. She developed some physical problems which necessitated multiple doctor visits and treatment. Her physical problems began in late 2011 and progressively got worse. The physical problems began to affect her emotionally. She began to develop depression which was obvious for everyone in the office to see; she counseled with various co-employees and with myself and was in short just terribly frustrated that her life had so suddenly change for the worse. Despite the physical and emotional problems she continued like a trooper to work through them, working into the nights and coming in on weekends in an attempt to keep up her work load. Eventually, she could not keep up and due to the lost days of illness came to realize that she could no longer do her job. Her job mind you did not consist of physical exertion, lifting etc. Her job was more client relations and mental skills. Jenny last worked here on the 15th day of May, 2013. At that time I spoke with her at length about her problems, watched her cry and comment that she did the best she could and she gave the job all she could but just couldn’t handle it because of her physical and emotional illnesses. I’ve watched a young, vibrant, healthy, most confident real assistant work here for many, many years and then get stuck down – due to no fault of her own – by a physical and mental illness. Should you have any questions about Jenny’s experience here at the law office feel free to call me. Sincerely yours,
