Decided today to cook one of the many turkeys that the guys have in their freezer. Spent all am defrosting it. Alls well. Ran to win co to pick up potatoes, squash and rolls, as well as a cooking bag for the turkey. All is well. Unpacked the groceries and put things away. The turkey waited patiently in the sink while I did all of this. I preheated the oven and started to ready the turkey. I went to get the oven bag and it was not to be found! Knowing how scattered brained I can be I looked in the pantry and the refrigerator. Vanished! I went out and looked in my car, nothing! By this time Im totally frustrated and miffed! You see, at Win Co stores you bag your own groceries. I figured Id forgot to put it in my bag.:(. I then got out the aluminum foil and perfectly wrestle the 14lb turkey into the pan. I covered it up and wrestled the pan into the oven! Yea! All is well. I walked over to get my purse of the kitchen chair and guess what I found! Thats right! The bag with the oven bags in it! I had missed it! Stuck in with the paper towels I had bought! So I wrestled that darn turkey out of the oven and the roaster and stuck it in the oven bag! In doing so I burnt my right hand a little and strained my wrist! But the bird has landed and is cooking in the oven now. Im just not sure how I will get it out again! I cant remember the last time I roasted a turkey. The guys took over that duty years ago. But I know one thing now, this will be my last turkey for a lot more years! :)
