Decision Reserved Regrading Tyson Method Variance There was a packed house at Steinbach city council Tuesday night for a hearing about a home-based business that is operating outside of the rules. A fitness firm, known as the Tyson Method, is located along Highway #12, south of Hanover Road. Council was told the business has 20 pupils at a time while a home-based business is allowed to have only four. Also the size of the facility is 1,600 square feet whereas the city By-Law allows only 800. Charles and Tamara Tyson are seeking a Variance to make an exception in their case. Mayor Chris Goertzen says council has a lot to consider. We heard from some residents in the area that are concerned about it. We also heard some supporters of the business itself and so council reserved judgement on whether we approve the Variation or not. We want the rules to be followed. Council will make a decision in two weeks time. Councils next meeting is scheduled September 16th.
