Decision made. Over the last few weeks we have tried incredibly hard to get our pasties down to stores in the South island with little success. Unfortunately we have to deal with one person ie the deli manager and we have found that the majority of them dont know what a real pasty is. The response we have had from most is that the pasties are too big and why should they pay the extra for a pasty when they can sell a cheap pie for $3. You can only tell people the difference between a good pasty and a shit pie so much then you tend to loose heart. The freight is also an issue being so expensive, we have to have numbers to make it economical and unfortunately the numbers are not there. So except for a few stores we will not be actively chasing up any more stores in the SI for now and we will consolidate what we have here in the North. Very sorry to pasty fans in the SI but ultimately the deli manager has the final say.
