Declan, I know it does. I was exposed to fluoride starting in 1967. I had IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), off and on for several years. By the time I was thirty I had had irritable bowel several years and began having episodes of severe pain which was diagnosed as a possible appendicitis. I was also having episodes of depression and attention deficit. The pain became worse on day . I thought it was appendix. I went to a physician who said it was not appendicitis. the pain became severe over a few days. when I went to the er the appy was ruptured and I had a 500 cc peritoneal abscess. After this I still had pain and episodes of severe depression. I was still using fluoridate toothpaste however the water where I was not apparently fluoridated. After becoming aware of fluoride in my forties I stopped the fluoride and the depression symptoms totally abated.
