Declaration form Preliminary Coordination Meeting of Buddhist Leaders’ Summit Dhammaduta Zetawunna Tawya Chekinda Rama Monastery, Hmabi Township, Yangon Region, Union of the Republic of Myanmar Date: : June 14, 2013 (Friday) 1) Since Buddhism is internationally acknowledged as a peaceful religion all over the world, all genuine Buddhist leaders and Buddhists are willing to live peacefully and harmoniously without any conflict 2) We promote peaceful coexistence with all those who are living in the country 3) We object any action, false accusation or statement against Buddhism which are detrimental to Buddhism and the dignity of Buddhist monks 4) As far as the current communal conflict that is happening within the country and abroad, is concerned a. Acknowledgement of our deep condolence b. Acknowledge our heartfelt appreciation to government, organizations, civil societies and persons who are giving humanitarian support to all Myanmar citizens suffering from conflict abroad c. Assign Dhammaduta Sayadaw (Professor Dr. Chekinda) to accept the humanitarian aid (for vulnerable Myanmar citizens in conflict) from those who want to contribute and facilitate as necessary 5) In the preliminary coordination meeting of Buddhist Leaders’ Summit, 227 Buddhist monks across the country put their heads together and emphasized on seven sectors as follows; 1. Solving the conflict by mean of Buddhist way 2. Law and Order Enforcement for Peaceful Coexistence 3. Ensuring all citizens to live in a peaceful and harmonious manner 4. Promoting studies which lead to peace building 5. Media, Information and Communication 6. Negotiation among different organizations 7. Advocacy which leads to promote peace
