Dede Djaba private letter to Nana Akufo-Addo Dear Nana - TopicsExpress

Dede Djaba private letter to Nana Akufo-Addo Dear Nana Akufo-Addo, Greetings from London. I hope you are alright. I wish to bring your attention to serious matters that are likely to mar your campaign & bid for president in 2016. In the early hours of Saturday, 15 November, 2014, at approximately 1:45 am, my maternal aunt, Mrs Beatrice Addo her husband, Mr Godfried Gyasi- Addo and our guest, Ms Christiana Nartey and I were brutally attacked after an event held in your honour in London in your absence. Beatrice and Godfried are staunch members of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) UK. The perpetrators included Joyce Dei, NPP parliamentary aspirant for Bosome Freho aka Suzy of Luton, a die-hard fan of yours and about 10 pro Nana Akufo-Addo burly women outside the Prince and Princess Banqueting Suite in Edmonton, London after the fundraising dinner dance with Dr, Mahamadu Bawumia as special guest of honour and other Ghanaian MPs in attendance. The attack was unprovoked, unnecessary and unexpected. We had paid £40 per head for our tickets. We were dressed in beautiful kente costumes and attended the event in the spirit of unity and togetherness. When we arrived at around 9:30pm, at the entrance to the event, some fierce looking women, identities unknown asked me to leave with my guests as it was a Nana Addo event. I was taken aback. I politely informed them that I had every right to be there as we had purchased tickets at £40 per head. Marlon Anipa of NPP UK, London Branch and Hohoe North had reserved 2 tickets for us. My aunt had already paid for her tickets. Some of the women were particularly hostile and kept verbally insulting and provoking me throughout the event. One said I should be ashamed at myself for attending an NPP UK annual fundraising event. A weeks ago, David Owusu Yianoma informed me that I had been suspended and asked me to step down from the NPP UK constitutional review committee pending some form of disciplinary proceedings or investigation whiles he was in Ghana for the primaries. I immediately complied and resigned to make it easier for him to carry on the work. I still do not know what complaint has been made against me or who made the complaint and whether it has anything to do with my work as secretary to the constitutional review committee. Nana Yaw Sarpong, our Communications Director had asked me informally to assist with the work of the communications team and the Youth had also asked me to assist and mentor them. The womens wing had invited me to participate in their meetings and I have been instrumental with the formation of the Ga caucus. I am uncertain what the position is in relation to these duties. My family and guest from Ningo and Ada had participated in the fundraising, dancing and general merry-making. At about 1:30 am towards the end of the event, Joyce Dei also known as Suzy of Luton a serial caller who has persistently harassed and insulted me verbally on all the radio stations in the UK including Sources Radio, Amansan Radio, Naspa Radio, came straight to me and said : Dede, you must be ashamed of yourself for attending this event in an extremely hostile and threatening manner. This vicious looking woman was expecting a reaction and spoiling for a fist fight. I was taken aback, extremely surprised and hurt by her remarks. I had wrongly assumed that the Nana Addo for 2016 campaign group UK branch wanted unity. They had been singing the unity anthem throughout the night. It was just a mere facade. Soldier Hayford Atta Krufi, the former Chairman of the NPP UK, and his no -Nana-no-vote-brigade refused to speak to me or acknowledge me throughout the event. Most of the people at his table totally ignored me been though we were sitting right next to Hayfords table. I was not perturbed. The irony is that our table was named Dankwa. At the end of the event, at around 1:45 am, on a cold and rainy Autumn night, a large group of women thugs stood outside the premises of the Banqueting Suite chanting several unprintable words of abuse directly towards me. They were waiting across the road from the venue to pounce on me with the sole intent of wounding or perhaps even ending my life on the dark streets of London. It was a sad day for Ghanaian politics. The leader of the pack of wolves descended very quickly. One of them started chanting abuse and unpalatable language. Another used herself as a human shield or suicide bomber by standing right in front of our moving motor vehicle to prevent it from going any further. The skilful driver, Mr. Gyasi-Addo, a seasoned architect, manoeuvred slowly with the women banging extremely hard on all the 4 windows and the windscreen, chanting extremely loudly shame, Kwasea, aboa funu, all die be die, etc.. They had already taken our money and were now showing their disdain, contempt and violent behaviour. Their tactics were bizarre to say the least. They showed my maternal aunt, her husband Mr Gyasi-Addo the red card. The new member, Ms Nartey, who had just joined the NPP UK and my aunt were in tears, frightened and completely disgusted. She had volunteered to campaign in the Ningo area for the party. The message is crystal clear. I participated in radio debates towards the end of the recent NPP Flag bearership elections to make the contest more exciting, representing & campaigning for Mr. Alan Kyerematen. I paid for and sponsored Mr Kofi Twum Boafo to promote you, Nana Addo on Sources Radio ( my mobile phone and wi-fi was used, my bill totalling over £60), WBLS, Amansan FM UK (5 hours) Hot digital, Safari Radio, Naspa, Diamond Radio, etc. Twum Boafo has since been in high demand. It is obvious that my presence in the NPP UK is not appreciated There has been a lithany of abuse and threats which has now manifested itself in a brutal unprovoked attack. It was only the skill of the driver of the vehicle and the strength of the fibre glass windows that saved our lives. The mother of all battles has just begun. The all- die-be-die Nana Addo babes were in action in full force led by Joyce Dei the failed parliamentary candidate of Bosome Freho. May I remind you that I have been campaigning relentlessly with my own resources as a volunteer, activist, communicator for the NPP for several years, travelling to Ghana for elections 2008 and 2012. I have assisted with campaigns in Accra, Ashanti-Mampong, Kumasi, Koforidua, Somanya, Akim Tafo, Ayawaso West, Oman FM, Fox FM, Mighty FM, Rite FM, Boss FM, Kapital FM, Kessben, Hot FM, Ghana Waves Germany, Obimanso USA, Fontomfrom FM USA, Asempa FM, Adom FM, etc. The people of Ghana are watching. The whole world is watching. Power at all cost? Or is it all- hands-on-deck? Is the NPP really a united party demonstrating a united front? On Monday 17 November, 2014, at 11:45pm Joyce Dei continued her hate campaign live on Amansan Radio. She denied leading the attack. She informed the listeners that Dede Djaba is a thief, a liar ........ To be very candid, I suggest that you investigate this matter and call for a cease fire. I intend to seek an injunction against her under the Protection from Harassment Act. Joyce and her friends are out of order. I will not tolerate violence. I am a British citizen. If they injure, wound, harass or kill me, it is an act of intimidation and terrorism and will commence a diplomatic battle. I have every right to protect myself. Maxwell Ofori-Atta, your nephew from Milton Keynes is supporting and condoning the violence Joyce Dei in a cover up, pretending the incident did not happen. There were 4 of us in the car, and CCTV evidence. He is adding insult to injury. No one will win this battle of HATE and lawlessness. That is not what the Dankwa-Dombo- Busia tradition is about. That is not democracy. Ms Georgette Ami Dede Djaba Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales Qualified 15 December 1997 g.djaba@gmail 00447788178106 00442072780449 18 November 2014
