Dedicating this to my son, Nathan, and our daughter, Elisha, his precious, dedicated wife! The two of them have been training for an IRONMAN race that will take place in Louisville, Ky on August 24, since March! No, Elisha isnt running, she is Nathans biggest supporter, pusher, encourager, prayer warrior, and most dedicated to Nathans training, that he could ever have! She gets WHY he is running this race! Its not to receive the medal, although that is awesome, but it is to finish a race that was started so tragically a year ago on August 17, 2013! The results of an accidental gunshot wound left a 9x9 cm hole in the bottom of Nathans foot! After many agonizing surgeries, the doctors were just hoping to get him where he could walk comfortably on his foot again! After talking to his doctors in Feb.,and getting a cautious, doubtful, okay from them, he sent in his registration for a half ironman in Muncie, Indiana....he ACED that one in under 6 hours, which was his goal! All of this has been done with much prayer and leaning on Gods endurance and strength He has given to get Nathan this far! He still faces another surgery, but that is not stopping him! He is pushing through with Elishas and most importantly Gods help! The goal of the IRONMAN on Aug. 24th is NOT what time he can finish in...its just to finish!! Without God to rely on, they both couldnt have come this far! You see, the drs. werent even sure if they could save his foot.....they had NEVER seen an injury so severe to a foot! God chose to use Nathan & Elishas story as a testimony, to tell others that you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you! Go to Elishas blog and read their story! Grab the Kleenex first!
