Dee Botha The beautiful wild Australian birds, I simply love and can enjoy at my own leisure so much more as they are in their natural environment and not in stuck in a cage, I am a Bird lover. I get great pleasure of being able to handfeed my feathered friends. I feed the birds only once a day making sure they dont become too dependent on me that they have a snack treat which consists of special mince mixed with insects once a day. They all take the food from my hand, the bird species are Magpies, Magpie-larks known as Peewees, Butcher Birds the Pied and Silver backed Butcher birds, currawongs, Laughing Kookaburras and Mickkies. As much as I love the beautiful colourful parrots and Lorikeets I dont encourage them as they descend on you in huge groups they can be come very dependant on a humans for handouts because they become tame far too quickly as I have experienced with them, when trying to hang my washing on the line, I have ended up with lorikeets on my head and shoulders, they are very mischievous, as they get bored very easily, also noisy and pretty destructive, where fruit and wooden frame work, (Beams) on verandas are concern. I just make sure there is plenty of fresh drinking water on the front and back verandas. I have a lot of videos and photos I plan to put on Face Book from time to time.
