Deeds of kindness are performed by a vast number of people. However, the reasons behind these deeds are not always the same. There is a theory that everything that people do is because they get something from it. Although probably true for the non-spiritual, self-centered person, this could not be further from the truth as a Christian. Our spirituality should draw us towards acts of kindness with no regard for ourselves. Our acts of kindness should be out of our way, and we should not look forward to reaping any rewards from them, rather we should look forward to being able to bring someone to God. Deeds done out of spirituality are pure and good.
