Deep Green Resistance On Monday, an estimated 175-200K - TopicsExpress

Deep Green Resistance On Monday, an estimated 175-200K people marched in San Antonio, Texas and another 100K in Austin, Texas and many others in cities across the U.S. They marched and chanted and affirmed solidarity in the name of social justice and keeping Dr. Kings radical vision alive. This, in increasingly gentrified cities that are further marginalizing the voices of social justice activism and when white supremacists are doing things like bombing near the Colorado NAACP offices, and maintaining power through police brutality and white-supremacist-run towns and zones. Deep Green Resistance believes that non-violent protest can encourage activist community spirit and help people build a culture of resistance. We also believe that such things like protests and boycotts (acts of omission) largely become symbolic, and have resulted in little to no real socio-political change in terms of the abusive power structures in place across the industrialized world. We believe that full-range domination requires full-range resistance, and that militancy is also important. We believe we need a strong underground resistance that can carry out acts of commission against the infrastructure of oppression.
