Deep Playa Campout BeePpl! Thank you for attending the Raw Honey Tasting @ the BuzzInn! Your participation was awesome as we gathered adjectives to describe the young, the sage, wildflower, oak, and AK honeys! Quick reminder to anyone who received native wildflower packets: plant at beginning of Spring for best results--the packet contains: Godetia, Mountain Garland, Chinese Houses, California Poppy, Globe Gilia, Birds Eyes, Tidy Tips, Mountain Phlox, Sickelkeel Lupine, Russell Lupine, Five Spot, Baby Blue Eyes, Western Evening Primrose, California Blue Bell, and Blue-eyed Grass. Peaceful Valley Farm Supply was the source of these seeds and I highly recommend them if youd like to augment pollinator friendly habitat--both for honeybees, native bumbles, birds, & butterflies! Those of you who are bee friendly but cant or dont want to keep bees are highly encouraged to provide a bee bath--that is, a large plate or shallow dish (like the water catcher you put under a houseplant). Cover the bottom with twigs, rocks, moss, glass pebbles and fill. These items provide landing space for the bees who could otherwise drown. The water does not have to be changed frequently as the bees tend to like an earthier water. You are saving them precious flight time and your household pets (water bowl) from being marauded. Lastly but not least, feel free to join the BuzzInns page here on FB--this is where useful facts, interesting tidbits, politically relevant (think GMO/pesticide info), and photos from around the world of natures pollinators get posted-- facebook/BuzzInnNews >=<
