Deepest sympathy to the distressed families who have not heard of their loved ones since the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines. Nobody knows yet how and why it happened, but we hope for the best while expecting the worse. But this tragedy came just after the Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim was sent to jail after being found guilty of sodomy. I hope there is no link between those two events ! But it is good to know, Anwar Ibrahim - whose voice has been recently supported by the Mauritian Opposition Leader - has antecedents of the same crime. With the events unfolding in Malaysia, I am presuming it would be difficult for Najib Razak to fly to Mauritius in the next two days for the celebrations of our Independence Day. If he does not visit the country at this time, this will no doubt please our leader of opposition who acted as a bird of ill omen from the very day the Mauritian Government announced the visit of Najib Razak. Paul Berenger has indeed expressed a ton of criticisms vis-a-vis Malaysia, going to the extreme point of planning to close our Embassy there ! But if Mr Razak does visit us, Paul Berenger should be the last person to express his sympathy to that man. Else, he will be the greatest hypocrite confirmed of this country !
