Deer in my front yard on Thursday, October 15, 2014. Youll also see a blue dump truck also go by on Northlake Way NW which is located in the center of two stream corridors, Kitsap Creek and Dickerson Creek. About 200 feet north of my front yard, both of the above creeks dump into Chico Creek. The two salmon bearing creeks and Northlake Way are located in the Chico Creek Wildlife Corridor. Upland in the forest, about a thousand feet west of my home, Lost Creek and Wildcat Creek join to form Chico Creek. The four creeks that form Chico Creek is the most productive chum salmon stream system in Kitsap County. Chico Creek empties into Dyes Inlet where the salmon are now gathering and will start upstream any day. Ill go to the new Chico Creek Esturay, thanks to the Suquamish Tribe, and take a few photos and a video, or two. Weve had a couple of good rains this week, so maybe the salmon have started their journey.
