Defection: Kano PDP Youth Forum Vows To Disgrace Kwankwaso In 2015 Posted by: Awwal A. King Following the defection of Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last week Tuesday, Kano State PDP youths under the aegis of PDP Youth Stakeholders Forum have labeled the governor an ingrate just as they vowed to ‘disgrace’ him for dumping the party that gave him a second chance at ruling the state. The youth group also urged the son of late head of state General Sani Abacha, Mohammed Abacha to run for the governorship position of the state in 2015 following Kwankwaso defection to the opposition just as they hailed his (Mohammed) return to the PDP as a welcome development. A press release issued at the end of the group’s emergency meeting and signed by the convener, Barrister Abubakar Aminu Kurawa in Kaduna yesterday, said that after taking stock of the entire political confusion in the state, especially the defection of Governor Kwankwaso to the opposition APC, it convened emergency meeting and decided as follows: “That the defection of the governor and a handful of his supporters to the APC, after having immensely benefitted from the party since 1999 when he was first elected as the executive governor of the state is a clear show of ingratitude of the highest order, and thus condemned and rejected by us. “By this we reject Kwankwaso, his Kwankwasiyya and those few unscrupulous elements that follow him to the APC”. The youth group also vowed to see to the political downfall of the governor in 2015. “We want to assure Kwankwaso and his cohorts, that he will not only lose in the 2015 elections, but we will make sure that we disgrace him at the polls. This is not a threat, it’s a promise,” the group stressed.
