Defining GRACE: Have you heard GRACE defined as unmerited favor? - TopicsExpress

Defining GRACE: Have you heard GRACE defined as unmerited favor? Most of us at one time or another have probably heard this definition from one preacher or another. It is interesting that the bible in neither the Hebrew or Greek definitions define GRACE in this manner. In the NT the word GRACE is defined from the Greek word charis- and it means THE DIVINE INFLUENCE UPON THE HEART WITH ITS REFLECTION IN YOUR LIFE It is defined also as graciousness, of manner or act; gratitude; benefit, favor, joy, liberality, pleasure, etc... Today some take the GRACE of God and apply it as a license to sin; when in a reality it is the force of God working in and thru that will enable you not to continue in a lifestyle of sin. It doesnt empower you to sin; it empowers you not to sin. Now there is nothing you can do to earn or merit Gods real GRACE and that is where the definition of unmerited favor probably originated from; Let me say that GRACE was merited by ONE and that was by Jesus, the supreme sacrifice, and HE merited GRACE by HIS sinless life upon earth manifesting the nature of HIS FATHER GOD in every aspect of HIS being. GRACE and TRUTH came by JESUS; and HE is still the TRUTH; THE WAY; and THE LIFE. A true manifestation of GRACE in and thru your life will not cause you to want to sin or see just how much you can get away with; it will cause you to have such a deep love for your FATHER GOD that sin wont be your desire anymore. You will not want to MISS THE MARK or live in a FALSE IDENTITY of the OLD MAN anymore as you will truly realize that OLD MAN is dead and you are living IN CHRIST. This is not an automatic position you receive because Jesus died on the cross, this is something that requires belief, trust, and absolute adherence to Gods principles in your life to see full manifestation of HIS GRACE. Be blessed! #GraceGospelChurch
