Definitely not the day I envisioned. For the first time since mid-2010 - over 4 years and 50+ events - I blanked. It was bound to happen sometime...man, fishing here at Cherokee is TOUGH! Had a great draw, he power-fished shallow all day, and managed 3 keepers. I basically threw a rattle trap off the back in open water for 8 hours. He didnt front-end me - just the style he was fishing (throwing to isolated rocks in shallow water) was tough to fish behind. I did boat 5, but all shorts. The good news is that out of 143 anglers, 5-15 is the top 12 cut line. Only 2 limits, only 31 of the 142 got more than one fish, 45 got only one fish and the remaining 64 blanked. It was still a success - I fished clean, stayed mentally focused all day, and never slowed up until the final bell rang...and I cant wait to do it again tomorrow!!!
