Del Bosque Names Squad To Face Bafana 07 November 2013 Vicente Del Bosque has announced the Spain squad that will play in friendlies against Equatorial Guinea and South Africa on the 16th and 19th of November respectively. Spain, the current European and World Champions, are also the top-ranked side in the Fifa rankings. Before the Spanish return to the FNB Stadium, where they won the final of 2010 World Cup, to play South Africa, La Roja will play Equatorial Guinea at the New Stadium in Malabo. Costa, who was born in Lagarto, Brazil, has turned down the chance to represent his native county at next years World Cup, in order to play for Spain. It was a hard and risky decision for him as he changed his dream of playing for Brazil to defending Spains honour instead, Vicente Del Bosque said in a press conference earlier this week. He brings healthy competition to the team in attack and we will select those who are the best. There are still enough matches to prepare for the World Cup and he will get his chance. Spains Minister of Education, Culture and Sport, Jose Ignacio Wert said, I think its great, and we should be grateful because choosing between Brazil and Spain is not the same as choosing between Liechtenstein and Spain, in an interview on La Manana.
