Delano voters after a campaign with many twists and turns elected - TopicsExpress

Delano voters after a campaign with many twists and turns elected me as one of its City Councilmen. I am pleased, tired and a little surprised by the outcome. I want to thank all 912 voters who placed their trust in me. I also thank all the residents who took the time to talk to me, about the issues, my candidacy. The vote totals had me at the top with 912, Holly S at 818 (She is an experienced hand at city government) Larry Bartels at 768 who fell short, though I respected greatly his mentorship on city issues. Dan Vick got 640, someone I am friendly with, and have known for most of the years we have lived in Delano. The others included in descending results were Sara B., Eli Sinkel, and Ron Drake, all of whom I have spoken to on a number of occasions, and am amicable with all. I am pleased to extend congratulations to our returning mayor Dale Graunke! Though it was many hours spent to reach every home, and apartment in Delano, I was better for it, and it was edifying to speak to so many residents, to meet them, discuss the issues, and hear of their concerns. I have a lengthening notebook with so many of these concerns large and small. I hope and expect to address as many of them as possible. Before I go, I wish to thank publicly my wife Anna Franzen who was a great help in the campaign, she designed (with my input necessarily) my campaign leaflet, the two campaign ads, as well as the unique idea for the sign. I think Joe Mcdonald for his input on the lawn sign, as well as the leaflet. To my donors thanks so much for helping me raise 750.00 for the campaign, it came from residents, family and friends, from all walks of life, and political persuasion. My father in law Witold, (who just returned to Warsaw)and my parents Ed and Linda Franzen I extend a special thanks, as they made time available to help cover the home front, when I was door knocking.
