Delayed update of my workout yesterday, July 19 Workout: Hiking inside the forest Good evening from Magellan Island! No running yesterday, instead I had a one hour hike with UPLB research team from Bilisan beach to Magellan mossy forest. We reached the beach after an hour of boat from minesite then climb the sampling sites for landscape function analysis (LFA) for another hour. We also verified the host plant of stick insect discovered earlier by UPLB research team. Forest hiking is an excellent and awesome exercise. A walk in the forest will refresh our mind as we discover the plants, flowers and birds. According to study, our bodies immune system benefit from the phytoncides or chemicals that “plants emit to protect themselves from rotting and insects.” Fuel before the workout: coffee, juice and water Strengthening workout: 60 pushups and 60 squats Strengthening and recovery drink: water, fundador and SMB lights Recovery meal: cup of rice, bulalo, embotido without egg, string beans with shrimp and coconut gata and mango fruit Quote of the day: “The body does not want you to do this.
