Delighted to attend the flag hoisting ceremony on 66th Republic Day in a small town, Jam Khambhalia of Gujarat’s newly carved Devbhoomi Dwarka district. It was a great feeling to offer a high-headed salute to the Tricolour, unfurled by HE the Governor of Gujarat Shri O. P. Kohli ji, amid the tune of national anthem. In a very patriotic atmosphere, witnessed a series of programs including parade, tableaus showcasing the State’s diversity & development, yoga and cultural program by school students, dog & horse show, a daredevil motorcycle show and many more. On this occasion, I wish that just like flag, the glory of Gujarat soar high...! રાષ્ટ્રવંદના પર્વ એવા ૬૬માં ગણતંત્ર દિવસ નિમીત્તે દેવભૂમિ દ્વારકાના જામ ખંભાળીયા ખાતે માનનીય રાજ્યપાલશ્રી ઓ. પી. કોહલીજીના હસ્તે આકાશીય પુષ્પવર્ષાની વચ્ચે ધ્વજવંદન કાર્યક્રમમાં સહભાગી થઇ ત બાબતે ધન્યતાની લાગણી અનુભવું છું. પ્રથમવાર જળ-થલ-વાયુ એમ સેનાની ત્રણે પાંખોની પ્લાટૂન મળીને કુલ ૨૮ પ્લાટૂનના ૧૦૬૩ થી વધુ જવાનોએ ફરજ પરસ્થી અને શિસ્તનું નિદર્શન સલામી પરેડ મારફતે કર્યું. તમામ પ્લાટૂનમાં મહિલાઓએ પણ ખૂબ મોટી સંખ્યામાં ભાગ લઈ મહિલા સશક્તિકરણનું સુયોગ્ય નિદર્શન કર્યું હતું,. ઉપરાંત ગુજરાત સરકારના વિવિધ વિભાગોના સામાજીક ઉત્થાનને સમર્પિત એવા મુખ્ય કાર્યોને નિદર્શિત કરતાં ટેબલો પણ નિહાળ્યાં હતા. બાળકોના યોગ-વ્યાયામ નિદર્શન, દીકરીઓ દ્વારા સ્વ-રક્ષણ તાલીમનું નિદર્શન, જવાનોનું રાઇફલ- મોટરસાઇકલ ડ્રીલ, અશ્વ- શ્વાન શોની સાથે સાથે સ્વચ્છતાની બાબતે રજૂ થયેલ “સંવાદ” નાટીકાએ ગણતંત્ર દિવસની ઉજવણીને અત્યંત ભવ્ય બનાવેલ હતી.
