Delivery Driver - Mohawk, NY Drives company truck over established route to deliver office supplies and/or furniture, collects money from customers by performing the following duties: • Drives truck to deliver office supplies, machines, and/or furniture to customers home or place of business. • Must identify all packages to be delivered and then load their truck for delivery. Proper carton count should correspond with each order and manifest marked accordingly. • Collects money from customers and records transactions on customer receipt and delivery receipt (which is turned in to Accounting) --- payment form goes in the driver’s binder. • Creates delivery information on delivery record called Driver Manifest which is thereby turned in to Customer Service. • May inform regular customers of new products or services. At times, will deliver sales promotion materials such as sales flyers to customers. • Listens to and attempts to resolve service or delivery complaints. If further assistance is needed, driver needs to advise Customer Service of such. Also, Driver must always inform Hummels accounting clerk of any changes in customer account information. • All deliveries and/or returns not completed must be removed from truck and returned to its proper place in the warehouse on either a shelf, zone, or in the returns area before the end of ones shift. • Picks up rejected or unsold merchandise for credit and returns as sales flyers to customers. • Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or manifest delivery. • Cleans inside of truck. Performs routine maintenance on truck. Vehicle condition report must be completed daily and fluid levels are checked daily. • Responsible in scheduling regular preventative maintenance on the truck which has been assigned to you. • Is responsible in knowing clearance of the truck they are driving.
