Delores Ann Gerety, 83, lifelong resident of Nortonville, KS, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Village Villa Nursing Home in Nortonville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nortonville. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Church Cemetery. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm, Monday, September 9, with visitation to follow until 8:30 pm at the O’Trimble Funeral Home, Nortonville. Memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. Gerety are suggested to the Nortonville Library and may be sent in care of the funeral home at PO Box 267, Nortonville, KS 66060. Words of comfort for the family may be left online at beckerdyer. Delores was born on May 1, 1930, the daughter of Pierre “P.C.” and Anna (Schmidt) Weishaar at Nortonville. Delores attended St. Joseph Church Grade School and graduated from Nortonville High School. Delores and Ralph Gerety were married on August 11, 1949 at St. Joseph Church, Nortonville, and together they owned and operated Gerety Heating and Air Conditioning for over 30 years. Delores was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Altar Society of the church, and the Progressive Club of Nortonville. Survivors include her husband, Ralph; one son, Tom (June) Gerety, Winchester; two sisters, Darlene Sittenauer, Nortonville and Virginia Cathers, Belize, Central America; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, soon to be seven. Delores’ parents and a son, James Gerety, preceded her in death.
