Venue: Dirtopia Trail Centre, Delvera Farm, R44 between Klapmuts and Stellenbosch Cost: R65 pp and R25 for children under 10 yrs More info: You can enjoy the sunset over Table Mountain with stunning views of the Winelands and even a picnic whilst the full moon rises over Klapmutskop. This 9.75km marked circle route through the vineyards starts at the Trail Centre located on the Delvera Farm. This gives you the unique experience of hiking through the Greater Simonsberg Conservancy and Yellowwood forest to the top of Klapmutskop. It can take you up to one and half hours to reach the top so don’t be there later than 18h45 to ensure that you have the full experience! You could win a pair of Hi-Tec hiking shoes in a lucky draw! A shuttle service is available, especially for children. The hike then starts with the single track at the Pepper Tree – this will shorten the route to less than 5km in total. This option will take about 30 minutes to the top. You can be back at the Trail centre around about 21h00 - 21h30, depending on your walking speed. The cost includes a shuttle - you will also get a map. It is a marked route and the sooner you start hiking, the more time youll have to spend on the koppie to enjoy the beautiful view. There will be snacks & cooldrinks for sale at the Trail Centre. Bring something warm to wear after dark and a torch, but there will be a selection of Energizer torches available at the Trail Centre as well.
