Democracy affirms political legitimacy via ballot not bullet. Egyptians of all political stripes unite and participate and together agree to one common value and standard electoral democratic practice: an open, free and fair election system to validate political mandate to rule. They accept and agree on majoritarian democratic model to have a government. On this a new Democratic Egypt, the state is built and her democracy is strengthened. The 25 January or the first revolution runs its course due to this very premise of constitutional and electoral legitimacy. The 3 July “political revolt”, aka second revolution, fundamentally resets the democratic clock. This time Egypt undergoes “regime exchange”. It is a blatant democracy u-turn around, replacing the democratically elected government. This replacement is based on the illegitimate 30 July street referendum designed and asked for by the putschist military junta and jubilantly supported by the coup friendly liberals and the folools/Mubaraq regime Remnants. This “manufactured consent” mandate to crush “extremism and terrorism” is used by the military to establish law and order and to maintain security of the country. Security is meant or equated to neutralize/immunize or anesthetize the spreading of ideological “virus” “ikhwanizationism/ Brotherhoodizationism” of the country. The military is in absolute no mode to share with MB to rule the country. The very bloody overwhelming grossly disproportionate military response and crackdown upon those nationwide prodemocracy pro-legitimacy protesters should be roundly condemned in strongest meaningful possible terms but thus far the US, UK, EU and the west response totally reflect double standard mindset of first class order as if Egypt nascent experiment with democracy via ballot is not good enough to be considered as normal functioning democracy simply because its practice of democracy is not comprehensively inclusive to all Egyptian. To be inclusive or not is not the issue at this point. By the way, since when political inclusiveness is the standard democratic norm to be duly observed by a ruling government. The core central cardinal issue that could not be sidelined, just like that, by the military, the “useful idiots” pro coup Egyptian liberals and the international community of course with exception from Turkey and Qatar is the issue of validity of democracy via ballot and through open, free and fair election system. Egypt freely embraces this idea and the practice it four times and each time is through open, free and fair election/referendum. The other important issue needs to be raised is the determined complicit shown by anti Mursi & Ikhwan forces- the chicken out liberal coalition, the Mubaraq era folools plus cronies and of course the US backed and trained elite generals- to consciously undermine the constitutionality and legality of the democratically elected Pres. Mursi and his administration. It is impossible not to believe that US has no full knowledge what so ever these anti Mursi forces are planning to undermine and delegitimize his administration and ultimately dethrone him. What is the possible way out to end the democratic crisis that is chocking up Egypt? Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim reasons out “those democratically elected must be allowed to complete the tasks they were elected to do, or at very least where there is overwhelming demand from the people for a fresh mandate, be allowed to call for fresh elections. As long as they stay true to the constitutional process and uphold the rule of law, there is neither moral nor legal justification to remove them.” His call is practical and implementable.
