Democracy is a wonderful thing, people have died so we in this - TopicsExpress

Democracy is a wonderful thing, people have died so we in this country have a democratic say in what happens to us ( a moot point considering politicians though ! ) However, today I placed a few signs around Strontian saying No Thanks , to independence for a few reasons: I believe that Scotland is better off as part of Great Britain and it is my democratic right to do so. Others have exercised their democratic right to post numerous Yes signs around the village and I dont have a problem with that. Was I surprised just now when I took a wee tour around Strontian to check on the signs I had placed? No I wasnt, well ok then just a wee bit , there were still a couple left where I had put them. It seems that the Yes supporters or at least one of them, doesnt think that anyone else deserves the right to express their views in the same way as themselves. I would hope that this is an isolated case and am sure it is in Strontian because I am the first to publically erect signs going against the wishes of the Yes campaigners. It makes me think, are the Yes campaigners in Strontian worried that, by letting others see there are two sides of the argument and people may have a different opinion to themselves? Behaviour like this makes me think that they are.....
