Democrats have always believed that the Constitution doesn’t - TopicsExpress

Democrats have always believed that the Constitution doesn’t apply to them. Now, Democrats in Congress are urging Pres. Barack Obama to ignore the Constitution and take action on Syria without Congressional approval. All those elite, Obama-loving Democrats: please refer back to Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, which clearly states that Congress has the power to declare war, NOT the president. But when Democrats own the presidency, who cares about following the rules! A Democratic consultant who worked for both Ted Kennedy and John Kerry recently stated, “There is a special Congress that we’re dealing with right now that has the lowest popularity rating in history and Republicans who overwhelmingly would oppose taking any action. The president of the United States cannot be handcuffed by the same Republicans that are holding the rest of the country hostage on every other issue. That is wrong.” According to this consultant, Obama has the right to take action any way he likes because Republicans are purposefully obstinate. Interbranch disagreement is called “checks and balances.” Another term Democrats aren’t familiar with because apparently they’ve never read the Constitution. So the question is, will Obama attack Syria? And if he does, will it be without consent of Congress? The Constitution was created to protect Americans from the potential abuses of government, just as we’re experiencing now. Democrats have been picking and choosing which laws to abide by and bypassing any they feel don’t suit them at the moment. How long can they get away with it? If Obama attacks Syria without Congressional approval, Americans will FINALLY have solid evidence to impeach the president.
