Denise Charlesworth-Smith has asked me to post this about her Dad - TopicsExpress

Denise Charlesworth-Smith has asked me to post this about her Dad as for some reason I was not able to approve her post: This is a message to my Dad: Dad, if you only knew how hard I have fought for justice for you I am sure you will be smiling down and be totally proud of me.... I chased Norman Lamb (the Care Minister) until he decided to listen to me and then was invited by him to a Government Round Table to tell them what you had suffered. The ultimate accolade was to be nominated by Mr Lamb to sit on the independent panel to review what had happened to families who suffered on the LCP as you did..... It was an honour to know I would be doing something in your memory. I suffered many a criticism from those fearing I would be a puppet but I fought my corner and won and together with those who DID support me I and the panel stopped the LCP. Yesterday we heard about the new plans for end of life care which I have my reservations over but I have said openly I want actions, not words and as such I am remaining on the government panel until July 2015 to make sure that nothing else happens. Dad, if you only knew, like the hymn Jerusalem, which I sang at school that my sword will not sleep in my side, until I have done what I have to bring your justice to court....... I can only thank Norman Lamb for listening to me telling him about your plight and others, and like he said he wants me to continue to fight and make sure that we ensure there is no repeat performance...... I raise a glass to you Dad on what is today 2yrs and 6 months.... love you always xx
