Denise Perry Abrams Because the world we live in has rejected God, The truth of the Bible, and faith in Jesus Christ, they have been successful in labeling Christians as extreme. In the United States not even 30 years ago Christianity was considered mainstream. In a single generation it has gone from being mainstream to extreme. It is a faith that has gone from loved to reviled, accepted to ridiculed. How did that happen? We have compromised in denying the truth of the Bible and building our own kingdom instead of the kingdom of God. Liberal theology has crept into the church. We have become more about temporal pleasures instead of the eternal work of the kingdom. We are being infiltrated, diluted, corrupted and even defiled, I believe the Bible refers to it as leavening. Leavening- is any influence spreading through something and working on to bring about a gradual change. 1 Corinthian 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
