Dennis, a couple weeks ago we decided to go ahead and go on our family vacation to Alabama. Needless to say it was an extremely hard vacation to go on, if you would call it that. Little sis asked a few times if and when we were going, so we thought it was the right thing to do. Reluctantly we went. Definitely not a vacation we thought we would have to do without you physically present. We took your picture along with us so we could see you in presence. We took pictures with you as we always did on the beach on the last night there and had you with us because its not a family picture without you. We sent you many signs from seaweed that had rolled up from the waves, to seashells in the sand to balloons launched in your honor, we had shirts made that says Dennis, Always Loved, Deeply Missed....and many more. We want to give you an Angel hug and THANK YOU SO MUCH for the signs you sent back to us. The smiley face balloon that just happened to roll up in a wave where Jess was looking for seashells, exactly a sign we know you would have sent Jess, a perfect smiling face. It will be forever treasured. Thanks!! The feathers and the penny found here and there where we just randomly happened to look down. Thanks!! The irony of our room being on the 10th floor. Thanks!! The little guy that was in front of us pretty much the whole time we were there trying to ride the waves with his skimmer board, something you loved doing when we were there, attacking those waves, then to top it off he asked us to watch his board one time so he could go in the water and cool off, then he came out and said thanks and gave us a THUMBS UP, your ultimate favorite sign you would give us all the time that everything is going to be ok. Thanks!! For walking with us along the beach. Thanks!! And then on the last morning before we were to go home, i tried to write, we love you Dennis in the sand up where the waves wouldnt wash it and here comes a wave and washes it, so i attempted a second time, this time saying aloud, ok Dennis if a wave gets this one I will stop embarrassing you, well here came another wave where I thought it wouldnt come up to, so I just smiled and said ok,ok I got it. I could just hear you saying, Mom, I know you all love me, no need to write it in the sand. :) Just so many signs that you were right there with us. Thanks!! We are just missing you so, so much babe. Life is extremely hard to live without you. And as you can see, time doesnt heal. You are a piece of us that has left a huge hole in our hearts that will never be filled again while on this earth. We see you everywhere. Every time a young man about your age passes we cant help but think about what you would be doing now if you were here with us in physical presence. Maybe heading out to the field to help dad, or loading up your dirt bike for St Joes, or getting together with the baseball bunch for a fun game of baseball, or maybe taking Jess out for hers and your favorite ice cream........just always thinking. Everywhere we look here on the farm and at home we see a place where you have done something. All such good memories we have. We are very thankful to have them. Please continue to guide and strengthen us as much as you can. And if possible, Jess is missing you a lot, misses you picking on her and laughing with her, so if possible can you send her some jokes and laughter. We love you very very deeply Dennis and cant wait for us all to be together as a family again. We realize it needs to be Gods Will and in Gods time though. So save a spot for us babe.
