Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Provincial Head Raul L. Valmores formally handed over to City Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri the release of two separate checks amounting to Php 2,068,600.00 and 435,000.00 respectively for the livelihood fund assistance under the bottom-up budgeting (BUB) during the 2nd Monday Convocation last August 11, 2014. The livelihood projects will address the development needs of the target beneficiaries of the city after a series of consultations and collaborations between the National and Local government in consistent to their integrated livelihood program. Malaybalay City Women’s Organization is recognized as recipient for skills training and production requirements of various recycled products as well as the Malaybalay City Balik-Pinas OFWs & Beneficiaries Association, Inc. who also has a funding intended for production of biomass briquettes (bio-coal). The City Government being an active partner of the DOLE lined-up programs supports this initiative to implement an alternative eco-friendly and green projects aimed to reduce poverty incidence and helps to improve the lives of the qualified beneficiaries. Aside from these grants, a total amount of Php 1,354,500.00 was also funded under the Emergency Employment Assistance program to provide temporary employment opportunities to our displaced workers here in our city under the close coordination of our local PESO Manager Herculano S. Ronolo.
