Deportee is the 2nd Murder Victim for 2014 2014 has been a very active year in the life of Kareem Lopez better known as Robbery. Robbery was shot and killed on Central American Boulevard late Saturday night in Belize City. Lopez was charged in September 2014 for causing public terror when he fired a weapon on Marine Marade Boulevard on Carnival Day. In 2014 officers indicated he would be able to assist them with a murder investigation. In November of 2014 he was charged with marijuana possession. Lopez had been deported from the United States to Belize in January of 2014. New questions are being raised as to how the country as well as the rest of Central America and the Caribbean are dealing with deportees from the United States. While Jamaica and Haiti had over 1,100 deportees, in 2008 Belize was one the only CARICOM country other than Guyana to receive ‘triple digit’ deportees.
