Depression is an inward emotion. Outward circumstances might make it worse. But in actuality it is an intense feeling inside oneself. You can never come to turns with it but you can learn to live with it. Side by side peacefully. And life goes on. You can still laugh, you still gasp at beauty. You still exclaim in annoyance at trivial irritants of life. You can still dance. You still pray in faith. You really dont become any different from the rest. This feeling of great sadness doesnt leave you. It rests quietly by your side as you go on in life. Being a mother, daughter, sister, wife, cousin, aunt, wife, girlfriend, beloved, disciple. And the reverse for males. Learning to adjust with and around sadness. And at times this feeling of doom looms larger than life threatening to engulf you in its embrace. Overpower you and swallow you in a gulp of yawning darkness. At other times this is your timid other self. Meek and subjugated. Bowing down to your other self. Both emotions mirror one another. It depends how you want your mirror. All fogged up or clear like a stream?
