Depression is real. It is not a sign of weakness or all in your head or something you can just snap out of. It is as real as kidney failure, diabetes, or heart problems. We are not ashamed to admit we have these type of health issues. We need to understand and accept that depression, panic attacks, PTSD are real! They are medical issues that we should not be embarrassed about, or wont seek medical treatment. Thinking of Robin Williams. He had everything money could buy. He had family and friends that loved him. Fame unsurpassed, and yet he had a deep sadness. Its amazing how we think that if we just had more money we would be happier, less stressed, be able to enjoy our lives. Money is not the answer. Robin Williams started out flat broke. His talent allowed him all the material things he could ever dream of. Im sure when he was broke he too thought money would solve everything. Its amazing how we think that if we just had more money we would be happier, less stressed, be able to enjoy our lives. Money is not the answer. Mental illness, depression are not a poor persons affection. We all know someone who might be at or near the point Robin Williams was at. Please, reach out to these people. Let them know that whats happening to them is a medical condition and there is help, without shame. Dont let Robin Williams death be in vein. Reach out.
