Depression sucks!! This is a great description of what I always referred to as the black hole. Sometimes the gray still creeps in...the last 2 days have been a little that way & Im not sure if its the shock of Robin Williams death & the loss of such an amazingly talented individual who brought so much joy to so many, or if its the recognition & partial understanding of how heavy the burden was that he must have been carrying. Although I have my own personal battles with depression I never was at that point of really thinking about suicide. Getting hurt or sick or SOMEthing to give me a break from the weight of my depression, yes. But never suicide. That said, several close family members have been there. Gun in hand, razor at the ready or pills standing by. It is so heartbreaking to imagine their pain, I cant even begin to understand what that pain actually feel like. Friends & loved ones, pay attention & dont brush aside the struggles of those around you. They may not seem that big but the funny thing about pain is that none of us can truly know what that pain feels like to the one who is experiencing it. Listen & be present. Even knowing all I know & experiencing all I have experienced personally, I still thought that someone elses struggle was possibly exaggerated. Thank God they were persistent enough to smack me around before they had to resort to the final out. I love you to the moon & back a zillion times plus infinity...you know who you are...
