Depressive and Bipolar Disorders: Crash Course Psychology #30. - TopicsExpress

Depressive and Bipolar Disorders: Crash Course Psychology #30. several times in my life Ive had people openly define me as a person with bipolar disorder. At one point, recently, I even began questioning my own mental health and came to the conclusion that i should ask someone with medical expertise if I really did show signs of bipolar disorder. Long story short, I learned that open expression of ones emotions is a personality trait, not a mental disorder. I think bipolar disorder is a highly misunderstood mental health disorder and this widespread ignorance, that i am guilty of as well, can and does cause harm to people who do actually have bipolar disorder and are shrouded with misconceptions of what the disorder really is and are unsure if they should seek help. So take a second, learn some psychology and better define your vocabulary. If youre a psychology buff like I am try CrashCourse on youtube! It makes psychology easy to understand and its really fun to watch. I especially recommend it if youre taking any psychology classes as well.
