Deputies Face Bias Test for Banking Inquiry Panel TDs and Senators who want to serve on the banking inquiry will be made to take a bias test. The test will ensure that members of the inquiry team havent made prejudicial comments about potential witnesses - which could see any criminal proceedings thrown out of court. The new Committee is expected to be up and running by May - before the Local and European elections. Fianna Fáil will say this comment that was made on local radio by that government back bencher and vice versa... there will be rows over the bias test as much as there will be rows over this happening before the local and European elections. The measure looks set to be approved this evening, when it comes before a meeting of the Committee on Procedures and Privileges.
