Deputies assigned to Forsyth arrested a 25 year old Decatur man after the subject crashed his car on the west side of the Hickory Point Mall. The subject fled from Von Maur after allegedly stealing some clothes. A deputy that arrived at the store attempted to catch the suspect on foot, but was unable to before the suspect got into a car. The suspect was driving at a high rate of speed through the parking lot when he lost control of the car, causing it to roll over several times before coming to rest. Assisting deputies quickly arrived on scene and were able to take the suspect into custody. After being treated for minor injuries sustained in the car crash at a local hospital, the suspect was booked into the Macon Co. Jail on preliminary charges of resisting arrest and retail theft over $300.
