Deputy Roxanne Gaudet and Milo visiting the branch office following a recent visit to the vet. Back in May, we told you about an animal complaint we received from a shipyard in Amelia. A tiny kitten, apparently abandoned by its mother, was found beneath a crane. The responding deputy brought the kitten to the branch office in Morgan City until animal control could be contacted to pick up the animal. However, the dispatcher that day, Gaudet, decided to adopt the kitten instead. About a week later, the kitten underwent surgery for stomach issues. Gaudet was given word that the animal may not survive. But with care and attention, Milo made it. He was given a clean bill of health at his last vet visit.
