Or was it a tragedy waiting to happen at a right time? Well, now that we are out of emotions, it may be wise to sift the dirt and link the dots. More so, now it seems easier to put the puzzles together. If you closely follow what seem to appear sporadic events in the Diaspora, it gives more credence to an earlier articulated suspicion. Oh oppps! I almost forgot to say Happy Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving to all of us. But, seriously! We have a lot to be thankful for. A pile of dirt got blown away by a fierce wind! What do I mean? Well, many people had strong hunches that something weird was brewing in this very forum dating months back. Only now to come fully naked in the open. Some of us were ridiculed earlier for countering and asking question to a point that put-down responses were hurled as a gag-order. As I recall someone actually snarled back at me saying, please spare yourself the unnecessary adrenaline rush, anger or frustration that my messages seem to trigger in you. Well, that was around May 2013. Around the time Special Rapporteur (Ms. Sheila B. Keetharuth) was snooping around the Eritrean Diaspora about Human Rights abuses in Eritrea. And definitely months before the Lampedusa tragedy. At the time, this forum was getting provoked to address issues of Eritrean political reconciliation. Eritreas academic progress was criticized and the Eritrean government was constantly held with harsh judgments for whatever it did or didnt do. The strategy was simple. It is called make crazy in psychological terms. That is to ridicule, force and influence sober Tsedal readers (including those who reside in Eritrea). Interestingly the issues were hammered constantly to psyche-down some naive drifters and subscribe to it. The intimidation from key members of this forum; who now are signatories of the L-22 Paper; was meant to gang support for a calculated political interest. They tried to make it sound appealing enough for us to discuss the issues with our counterparts at open meetings, or with government officials if we had access to such privy. Issues pertaining National Security were forced up on us to invoke fear such that we talk about them in this forum, preach them in public or debate with Eritrean officials (for those who have the privies). Main strategy being to arouse public sentiment against the GoE in the Diaspora and in Eritrea, so that the MASS calls for disoriented public debates or conference. They couldnt arouse a public dissent within the Eritrean public and hence a sad formula was designed to force the Eritrean Mass with a heart wrenching event. Now, go back and compare the issues forced in this forum with what you read and heard about in the L-22 Paper. Eventually all the issues surfaced in this forum made it neatly folded in the L-22 Paper (the paper that was signed by 22 academia). Now comes the surprise! Have you heard of Shock-Therapy? Shock-Therapy in political terms is when a group tries to force a sudden, abrupt and disoriented decision upon the public. However, despite the heart wrenching Lampedusa event (never to be forgotten), the Eritrean psyche once more went through the pain in stride. And, Eritrea stormed the bad weather as it should. Now, was Lampedusa tragedy an accident? Or was it a scheduled tragedy to do some Shock-Therapy on the Eritrean public? Thence arouse disoriented public sentiment and do away with what our enemies have failed to achieve so far? Surprisingly enough, neither the Eritrean public nor the insolvent Opposition groups accepted the L-22 Paper. That is like falling upon a double edged sword! Happy Thanksgiving again! Eritrea has much to be thankful for. Either our enemies dont polish their spectacles well enough or they were not breast-fed at birth; they seem to fail every time. And the L-22 Paper whose tone was full of arrogance, selfishness, inconsideration, infantilism, aloofness and self-absorbance; goes to accompany the G-13 Document in the dust bin.
