Der Heimliche Aufmarsch (The Secret Deployment)/Sozialistiche Weltrepublik (The Socialist World Republic) (1938) tops the list of my favorite German revolutionary songs. It was originally written by famous German writer Erich Weinert. The music was composed by renowned Austrian musician Haans Eisler and was sung by acclaimed German singer Ernst Busch (1900 - 1980). Well known German poet and artist Bertolt Brecht had closely worked with both Haans Eisler and Ernst Busch. Though composed during the troublesome events in Germany after the rise of Adolf Hitler and ultra-Right wing Nazi ideology which ultimately drove the world towards the World War II, the song is a rousing call to the democratic and progressive forces in the world to gear up for the protection of Socialism and to destroy the Fascist and Nazi thugs and their world destruction designs supported then by the world imperialist forces who were hell bent on destroying the Soviet Union by any means. The meaning behind the song is highly relevant in todays difficult situation and would remain forever till the war generating parasitic moribund Capitalism would be smashed to the core.
